A Question for Righty

Dear Righty – why do you think you don’t believe housing, education, and healthcare should be deemed fundamental human rights?

N.B.: Please don’t spout pseudo-intellectual Ayn Rand/Rand Paul/Paul Ryan nonsense to “prove” that the poor are better off when they are constantly threatened with or actually face homelessness, ignorance, and untreated injuries and disease. Just explain why you believe billionaires should not have to pay a little more to ensure that your fellow Americans have: 1) a safe warm place to sleep every night, 2) access to temples of higher education without taking on crippling debt, and 3) medical treatment.

“The size of some of these institutions becomes so large that it does become difficult for us to prosecute them when we are hit with indications that if you do prosecute, if you do bring a criminal charge, it will have a negative impact on the national economy,” Holder said this to congress.. Congress should have called Obama and demanded his removal. This is blatant corruption.

During the recent referendum in Scotland all of the major media outlets kept talking about what the new govt. would have to provide . They all said Scotland would have to form it’s own army.. That got me to thinking. Why does Scotland need a army? I couldn’t think of any reason. Then I realized how brainwashed people are that without a second thought think Scotland needs a army.
Costa Rica has more contentious neighbors . They are always arguing with Nicaragua over the border. But they had the good sense to realize , Nicaragua is not going to invade Costa Rica. No one is going to invade Costa Rica. They don’t have a army and don’t need one. Neither does Scotland.

The USA doesn’t want peace. Think back to Kuwait Iraq war. The USA almost invited Iraq to invade.. It could have all been avoided If the usa called up Iraq and told them. We know your massing troops at the border and if you cross the border we will immediately come after you like a chimp from Bakersfield. There would have been no invasion

The exercise of a fundamental human right does not obligate someone else act.

You right to free speech does not obligate someone to provide you a soap box.

  6. Jeff Linder says:

Fundamental rights aren’t things provided to people. You’re right to free speech doesn’t entitle you to a soap box.

  7. Jeff Linder says:

The reasoning comes from principles first. By your logic all you need to do is present a transitory reason as to what is a fundamental right. Why didn’t you throw in transportation? Entertainment? Where does the right to education end? Should the government provide me with any education I decide I want no matter how bad I am at it or how long it takes? Should the government provide me with a car if I choose in an area without public transportation? Why does my obligation to your wants supersede my needs?
