The Hal Ginsberg Morning Show September 1 – 5

A couple of articles really caught my attention over the weekend.  In today’s Washington Post, George Will’s Paul Ryan rethinks the ‘makers’ and ‘takers’, and in Salon, Andrew O’Hehir’s, “Why acknowledging white privilege is not surrendering to ‘white guilt’”, a follow-up to “White privilege: An insidious Virus that’s eating America from within” both rubbed me the wrong way and not only because of their unwieldy names. Will’s piece, like so much of his writing, is lazy junk.  Masking as an ecomium to a more thoughtful and mature Paul Ryan than the one who crudely dismissed a majority of Americans as takers, “Ryan” is a barely disguised hit piece on President Obama that provokes caricature rather than thought.   Still, O’Hehir’s article, perhaps because it failed despite my best efforts to educate me, left me more bemused.  I’ll be addressing both tomorrow and perhaps later in the week as well during the Hal Ginsberg Morning Show.

The owner of Home Depot threaten the pope of withholding donations if he keeps speaking ill of capitalism and the existing social order.. . I was about to call my brother to instruct him to order a new window
from Home Depot for my house in aromas.. That is over,,, no mas Home Depot. Join me,, he should know if he doesn’t play nice.. The customers will leave.

  2. Dav says:

Hal, you used to fly a lot. what do you think of the airline seat recliner conundrum? ,, it appears the airline rents a seat to 2 people at the same time.. They rent the front to one person and the back of the seat to another.. The person sitting in the seat has the recliner controller. and the person using the back,( the tray,) has to live with the controllers desires unless they tamper with the device. My only opinion is, I don’t think a passenger should
tamper with any mechanical device on a airplane

  3. Dav says:

Email reveals Lois Lerner ignored political expenditures by unions. Read the article on yahoo. From your comments Hal, it appears you have little regard of rule of law that is supposed to govern everyone. From day one you claimed it was all partisan and it was the rambling of disgruntled tea party members. You based your opinion without the facts.. Lois learner played hard and fast with the law. Picking winners and losers based solely on their political persuasion .

Dav – quite simply despite over two years of investigating and millions of dollars spent, Cons haven’t come up with a thing. Time for you to stop believing anything they say.

  4. Dav says:

I remember the register of voters was on Hal’s show asking us to trust him.. A year later he was charged with felonies.. When someone ask me to trust them, I reply ,
Get real. It’ insults my intelligence when someone ask me to trust them. A honest person ask you to review the verified evidence.. A crook will ask you to trust them.

  5. Jack Hoff says:

Political expenditures by labor unions are legal, and were not within the area covered by Lois Lerner (or her successor).

Lois Lerner was a mediocre mid-level manager, who got into a situation which was over her head (common in IRS). Then she melted down, she could not deal with the situation.

  6. Dav says:

Hal, why do you suggest that I believe what cons say about Obama. I don’t respond to what cons say about Obama or even what Obama says about Obama,,, I respond to what Obama DOES

  7. Dav says:

Jack hoff writes, Lerner got in over her head, common with the IRS… Can you be any more ambiguous?
Are you suggesting she broke the law and didn’t know she had? gee whizz judge, I didn’t know I was breaking the law. Sorry jack, that excuse doesn’t cut it.
Once you leave 3rd grade that excuse s no longer viable. What I came away with from jack’s comments is that breaking the law is common practice with the IRS.
    Now, that I could believe.

  8. Dav says:

    Concerning the union political expenditures
The controversy centers around what the unions declared to IRS and other govt. agencies. From the information I discovered is that they were telling different tales to different agencies.– it’s really
Sad for me,as I have always worked under a union and they provided me with a better than average lifestyle. I hate hearing about union corruption as I feel a bitter sense of betrayal.

  9. Dav says:

I don’t know what people think , but when AG Holder said he was giving a multi billion$ award won by the justice dept. to political activist I almost fell off my chair.
How can this be acceptable? It reminds me of NYC Tammany Hall..this is the paramount of political corruption.

  10. Dav says:

What tip the scale with me and made me suspicious of Lois Lerner was, she kept coming up with the dog ate my homework excuse. I was expecting her to say she lost her drivers license and couldn’t remember how old she is… One word sums up her rap and the word is rediculous.

  11. Dav says:

Hal , you write , the cons spent millions and havent come up with a thing.. Considering the stonewalling, the claims of lost documents, how do you know crimes weren’t committed? And Holder gving away a lot of public money to private political groups? Your mitigating defense of the administration is pretty shallow. I would bet on your response if the shoe were on the other foot and a republican IRS was hassling liberal groups and the republican AG gave a bunch of
money to some right wing group. Your a patrician and I’m a guy that points out evil regardless of persuasion.
When I point out evil in the liberal camp you claim I’m a partisian of the right.. It simply isn’t true. I’ve had to defend myself from your claim several times. It’s a hassle. But, I won’t allow you to put me in a box.
    I am not stupid , I think for myself , I investigate.
So please quit implying I fall prey to the right wing ideology. It’s shallow and insulting.

  12. Dav says:

Why did the IRS clean out Lois Lerner’s Blackberry as probes began?— this is a article title on yahoo right now.. I am not making this up,, right wingers are not making this up .. This is what the Obama administration did. They are blocking and stonewalling investigations and hiding information. We don’t know if crimes were committed or not. When the govt acts in a suspicious manner like this. It warrants investigation, not the ridicule of the investigators.

  13. Carl says:

Bullet train? Again? TAMC is a worthless organization. They have been teasing us with this idea for over a decade now. I remember when I left the Army in 1985, the local were talking about the proposed railway that would run all the way to Gilroy, then you can connect to San Jose, SF and beyond. A few years later they were talikng about a high speed rail, possibly a bullet train that could go to 150-200 MPH. Problem is, the only passenger rail int he area Amtrac has no trains that can go that fast. They have no bullet train in this area. It will never happen.

  14. Dav says:

I think I would give half my money just to watch George bush dragged away in chains.. Last week he was caught saying that he knew what would happen in the Middle East.. He must think he can say anything as his audience is so stupid that they forgot that it was him that caused the catastrophe. With 99% of the country sucked into the boys with cutters theory and propelled into endless war it appears any group of people can be easily manipulated.. If it happens here , think how easy it is in most other countries.
